Wall-E

 Wall-E is another animated film I loved the colours of, just like all Pixar films I suppose. In the image above the use of monotone colour is great in that in depicts night time, the outer space and at the same time all the detail on Wall-E and the rubbish pile at the same time. The choice of monotone blue is perfect in describing all of these factors of the image. In context we also grab so much more information from the image, again supported from the colour, which include the emotions of loneliness, desire and wonder. The lack of colour variety almost limits the image to be simple and not too dramatic which is appropriate for the scene. If the were all sorts of colours all over the place, we wouldn't quite get the same feeling from the scene.

Brave

 When I saw Pixar's Brave, one thing I loved was the visuals. The colour, the lighting  the concepts, they were outstanding. The Scottish scenery was spot on and the visuals adapted to the films story.
 On the right the whole of the background is de-saturated and grey, creating a gloomy look. The character in the mid ground has a 
lot more colour but in comparison to the very saturated foreground is slight de-saturated.

 The warm colours in this scene create a homely feel to the old castle. There is a lot of red in the scene but the use of green on everyone's clothes gives appropriate colour proportion to the scene.

 I loved the shots of the Scottish landscapes. In this example the focal point of the cliff-side is balanced with a mixture of greens, yellows and reds. The broken colour of green in the background perfectly describes the distant background and the gloomy weather.

La Luna

 Continuing with my Pixar film obsession and colour, La Luna one of Pixar's shorts is another hit. It uses strong complimentary colours of yellow and purple. The colour proportions also work in balance as you can see to the left and in the bottom image unbalanced as the yellow stars take focal point.

 I love the lack of colours, its very simple but effective. The colours of the sky have been artistically created, using harmonious hues. Its unlike a realistic space shot but captures its qualities well with a representative colour palette.
